Ag Land Preservation Program
Juniata County has joined with over 40 counties in PA that have active Agricultural Land Preservation Programs. This program is where conservation easements are purchased on productive farmland on the condition that those lands must stay in agricultural use. In 1999 the Juniata Ag Land Preservation Board held their first easement application period with 5 applications being accepted. In 2005 the Juniata Ag Land Preservation board finalized their 7th easement purchase.
