Dirt and Gravel Roads Program
The Conservation District is currently working with Susquehanna Township on a three-phase project to improve Saint Paul Road. Saint Paul Road is approximately 1.12 miles long, 18-22’ wide, and follows the Manantango Creek. Each phase of the project will be completed before the next can begin.
Phase one will take place this spring (2006) and will consist of removal of old cross-pipes, re-grade roadside ditches, install 22 new cross-pipes and 4” under-drain. Phase two of this project will consist of fill material in the roadway to reestablish the crown in the subbase. The final phase will be applying DSA to the driving surface to bring the road to final grade and complete the project.
The timeline for this project is 3-5 years and the total cost is estimated at $55,000.
